It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Frances Waddell (Durham, North Carolina), who passed away on April 7, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, W. E. Byrd and Myrtle Leigh Byrd; her siblings, W. E. Byrd, Jr. and Marian Byrd Wyshosky; and her nephew Gregg Wyshosky.

She is survived by : her children, Owen A Waddell, Jr. (Teri Danner) of Durham, Kathy W. Jones (late Jerry) of Durham and Jean Underwood (Steve) of Raleigh; her grandsons, Matthew and Jarrod (Marissa); her great grandchildren, Forrest and Mavrick; her grandsons, Brennan, Evan and Alexander of Durham; and also Bill Waddell (Teresa Roberts).

A graveside service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Maplewood Cemetery (1621 Duke University Rd, Durham, NC 27701).

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a local hospice agency of your choosing.
