It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mattie Ann Suggs McDuffie of Durham, North Carolina, who passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Nathaniel Suggs and Mazie Beatrice Hannah Suggs; and her siblings, Margie Weathers, Gloria Devine Suggs Jiggetts and Jimmy Suggs.
She is survived by: her children, Juanita Faye Rogers (late Rodney Rogers), Lolita Kaye Deberry (Craig), Mekeba McDuffie Brigman (Dashiel), Raheim Gatling and Omar Mason; her sister Teresa Suggs Bass (Curtis); her grandchildren, Devonte Ray Rogers (Imani), Kayla Maurisa Deberry, Jaylyne Brigman of Craig, Deberry Jr. and Aidan Brigman; her great grandchildren, Bryson Ray Rogers and Noemie Deberry; and her sister Michelle Noel. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
