He was predeceased by: his parents, Mabel Estelle Starling and Earl McKinley Hodges; his close friend Joyce Nobles Hodges; his siblings-in-law, Alan Nobles, Jean Pritchett, Franklin Faulkner and Jenny Carver; and his stepfather Alvis Carver.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Nobles; his daughter Joye Hodges Douthart; his son-in-law Charles "Chuck" Douthart; his grandchildren, Ryan Michael and Rebecca Starling Douthart; his brother Steve Carver (Norma); and his sisters-in-law, Judy Faulkner, Martha Nobles and Anne Carver. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
