He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Thomas Cates, Sr. and Hazel Cates. He is survived by: his wife Tami Cates; his children, Philip Burrell Cates, Jr. (Laura) and Ashley Marie Bunner (Chris); and his grandchildren, Philip Burrell Cates, III and Molly Ann Cates.
