He was predeceased by: his father Charles Edward Hablutzel Jr.; and his brother Benjamin Cory Hablutzel. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Margo Lynn and Robert Paul; his daughter-in-law Patricia; his granddaughters, Annabel Sara and Kathleen Rae; his sister Caroline Anaya; and his son Yano.
The only continent they missed visiting was Africa; a planned trip was cancelled by the 2020 pandemic.
Phil asked that memorials be in the form of donations to the North Carolina Opera (ncopera.org) or the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle (foodshuttle.org).
