She was predeceased by: her parents, Hodgesty Venore Alston and Virginia Williamson Alston; her husband Edward Delano Roberts, Jr.; her brother Venore Richard Alston; her grandparents, Ephraim Williamson, Sallie Crawley Williamson, Enoch Alston and Alice Johnson Alston; her great-grandparents, Solomon Crawley Vaughn and Morning Crawley Vaughn; and her grandfather Orin Alston.
She is survived by: her children, Edward Roberts (Vanessa) and Michelle Charles (William); her grandchildren, Christie Charles, Jackson Charles and Nigel Charles; her nieces and nephews, Tara Alston (Mike Thomas), Latasha Alston, Vernetta Alston (Courtney), Marian Belk, Danielle Hicks (Timothy), Derrick Green (Kim), Antoine Alston, Omar Alston, Cedrick Chavis (Chasidy), Justin Roberts, Anthony Roberts (Olivia) and Gregory Roberts, Jr.; her siblings-in-law, Nettie Alston, Deborah Roberts Belk (Hollie), Michael Roberts, Gregory Roberts (Wanda) and Roscoe Roberts (Angela); and her close friends, Lynn Lyle, Doris Joyner and Sandra Strayhorn. She is also survived by cousins, friends.
