It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert Earle Martin of Durham, North Carolina, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 28, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Captain Leslie and Clara Martin (Vaughn); his siblings, Charles, Donald and Marguerite; and his son-in-law Timothy Welch (Melodie).
He is survived by: his sister Cherie; and his children, James (Kathy), Donald (Chantal), Paul Martin (Kristin), Melodie Martin and Cindy Corey (Wes). He is also survived by 11 loving grandchildren, one beautiful great-granddaughter and many loving nieces and nephews.
During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bob joined the local relief efforts of Families Helping Families, speaking words of comfort and reflection and offering the blessing as volunteers assembled each Sunday to distribute meals to those in need.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Carleton Manor, Woodstock Unit 95 ANAVETS, or another local charity of the donor's choice.
