He was predeceased by: his parents, Catherine Gooch Thompson and Thomas Murphy Thompson; and his brother Charles Edward Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Marianna Hobgood Thompson; his children, Rhonda Skinner (Brian) and Ryan Thompson (JoAnn); and his granddaughter Mary-Katherine Thompson.
