She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Rev. Clark H. Wilson and Alda E. Wilson; her siblings, Hazel Eakman, Clara Jane Davis, Ruth Davidson, Russell Wilson, Clair Wilson, John T. Wilson, Denzel G. Wilson and Curtis Herbert Wilson; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Barbara Denesevich (Mark), Nancy Herlihy (Mike), Miranda Claire Jennings, David Mellon (Mary Ann), Richard Mellon (Christine), Curtis Mellon (Deborah) and Nathaniel Curtis Jennings. She was also cherished by friends, cousins.

She also served on the Charter Board of Directors for the North Carolina Foundation for Nursing, of which she later served as President.
