She was predeceased by: her parents, William Arthur Chappell and Maggie Pearl Bunn Chappell; her husband Bill Radford Garrett; and her siblings, William Arthur, Chappell Jr., Earl Chappell, Mildred Rigsbee, Margaret Flowers, Mary Rigsbee, Marie Stevens and A. Lee Mathers.
She is survived by: her children, Dianne Garrett of Wilmington, NC, Neil Garrett of Fayetteville, NC and Scott Garrett of Atlanta, GA; her sister Pat Latta of Nashville, TN; her grandchildren, Matthew Curtis, Adam Curtis, Josh Morgan, Clint Morgan, Hallie Garrett and Hannah Garrett; and her great grandchildren, Sophia Curtis and Mason Curtis.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 25th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Woodlawn Memorial Park (2107 Liberty St, Durham, NC 27703).
