He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Samuel Isaac Parsons and Tabitha "Susie" Horton Parsons; and his brother Larry Parsons. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Gresham Parsons; his children, Kolan R. Parsons (Gayle) of Oxford, Laurianne P. Tyree of Oxford and JoAndra P. Proia (John) of Summerfield; his grandchildren, John H. Kirkland, IV (Cary), Matthew J. Kirkland (Amy), Sarah K. Fannell (Ryan), Liana P. Rios (Hector) and Luke P. Proia; and his siblings, Arthur Parsons, Michael Parsons and Kathy P. Wiseman. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church (4044 Fairport Rd, Kittrell, NC 27544).
