She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Jackson Ryan, Jr. and Mercedes Thennes Ryan; and her brothers, Jack Ryan, Timothy Ryan and Maurice Ryan.
She is survived by: her children, Andrea "Holly" Askins Hardy of Charleston, SC, Michelle "Shelly" Askins Thompson (Michael) of Raleigh and James "Jay" Holloway Askins Jr. (Emily) of Hendersonville; her grandchildren, James Holloway Askins, III and Ryan Whitley Thompson; her siblings, Mary Ryan, Marie Ryan, June Duckworth (late Stan), Terry Ryan (Regina) and Mark Ryan; and her sisters-in-law, Teresa Ryan and Shelia Ryan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
