With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shelby Jean Martin (Durham, North Carolina), who passed away on March 25, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Roy Hunt and Dorothy Lewis Hunt; and her brother Vernon Hunt. She is survived by: her husband Barry Martin; her children, Pamela Fowler Stewart and Michael Fowler; her sister Hazel Ingram of Pauley's Island, S. C.; and her grandchildren, Tina Jones (Chuck), Mandy Chamberlain, Chris Waller (Felicia), Aaron Fowler (Stephanie) and Erica Fowler. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
