It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sheldon D. Balbirer (Durham, North Carolina), who passed away on January 12, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Abraham Balbirer and Estelle Balbirer; and his wife Roslyn Kay Hirsch (Roz). He is survived by: his granddaughter Ryker Windham; his close friend Joyce Rudick; his sister Myrna (Steve Parker); Phyllis Hirsch and Diane Hirsch. He is also survived by his daughters and their husbands.
