He was predeceased by: his parents, Elliott Franklin Breedlove and Margaret Frazier Breedlove; and his siblings, Bill, Marshall, Ray, Carl and Jeanette Breedlove.

He is survived by: his wife Mary "Betsy" Mangum Breedlove; his daughter Brittany Blackwell (George) of Stem; his grandsons, Miles and Beckham; and his siblings, Kenneth Breedlove (Sharon) of Oxford, Ronnie Breedlove (Wanda) of Roxboro, Joyce Leonard (Bobby) of Oxford and E. F. Breedlove, Jr. of Durham. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made in his honor to the family for Miles and Beckham's College fund.
