He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Cone and Mary Cone. He is survived by: his wife Connie Beasley Cone; his children, Lenora Cone Murphy and Loren Thomas Cone (Christina); his grandchildren, Collin (Yasmine), Evan (Laura), Grace Murphy, Aidan and MacKenna Cone; his great grandchildren, Sophie and Ella Murphy; his sister Martha Cone Bailey (David); and his cousin Vic Adams.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Dan to The Temple Home, ℅ Temple Baptist Church, which provides free housing for patients receiving transplant services at Duke Hospital; or to the Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department, 7900 Russell Road, Durham, NC 27712 in appreciation of their support of Dan through his illness.
