He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Golden and Alice Westerberg Golden; and his siblings, Maryanna Golden, Jack Golden, Bill Golden, Marjorie Golden Buhl and Norman Golden.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Brown Golden; and his children, Ricky Underwood and Crystal Carlson (Kevin).

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in Thomas's honor to the Museum of Life and Science in Durham, NC.
