He was predeceased by: his parents, John Calvin "JC" Johnson and Glossie Mae Pratt Johnson; and his brothers, Frankie Johnson and Terry Stephens. He is survived by: his children, Michael, Tawanja, William "Puggy", LaTrice, Carmen, Qu'Rita Shavonne of John Chris and Crystal; his siblings, Calvin (Monica), Amy Diane, Wayne (Kimberly) and Ida Johnson; and his fiancée Thea Royal. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church (2508 Crest St, Durham, NC 27705). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
