He was predeceased by: his sons, Jackson and Gage; and his mother Mildred Ann Steffens. He is survived by: his wife Beth Balawejder; his father Harry Steffens of Newton Falls; his sister Shelley Frederick (Dave) of Brecksville; his parents-in-law, Sharon and Tony Balawejder of Pittsburgh; his brother-in-law Mike Balawejder of Pittsburgh; and his sibling's children, Bailey Frederick, Steffen Frederick and Ben Balawejder.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made in Tyson's name at Triangle Land Conservancy: 514 S. Duke St., Durham, NC 27701.
