He was predeceased by: his father Floyd Agustus Phillips; his wife Nellie Freeman Phillips; his son Shuler Phillips; and his siblings, Myron Phillips, Franklin Phillips and Oneida P. Davis.
He is survived by: his daughter Mary Beth George (John) of Henderson; his granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth Paynter (Andrew) of Henderson, Mary Nell Slaton (John) of Henderson and Ruth Anne Phillips of Rome, Georgia; and his great grandchildren, Johnny, Melanie, Michael, Adam, Keipris, Caleb and Elijah. He is also survived by other extended family and friends.
