She was predeceased by: her parents, Archie Mitchell and Lois Mitchell; her husband Leon Goss; and her siblings, Archie "Bud" Mitchell Jr., Jean Chase, Jimmy Mitchell, James "Dickie" Mitchell, Lois Ann Hayes, Janie Bradburn, Ronnie Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, Roselee Taylor, Susie Bishop and Marie Moses.
She is survived by: her daughter Karen Goss Price Shankle; her grandson Jason Price; her siblings, Janice Cangas (George) and Ralph Mitchell (Kathy); and her niece JoAnn Murray. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hudson Funeral Home and Cremation Services (211 S Miami Blvd, Durham, NC 27703). A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Grove Memorial Gardens (3712 Cheek Rd, Durham, NC 27704).
