She was predeceased by: her parents, William James and Berta Cleo Barber Morgan; her husband Philip L. Browning Sr.; her daughter Kathy Lynn Dowdee; her grandson Myles Joseph Kearns; and her siblings, Dorothy Crabtree, Hazel Dodson, Frederick L Morgan and Billy R. Morgan.
She is survived by: her children, Philip Layton Browning Jr. (Lori Spruill) and Lisa Browning Kearns (Gary); her grandchildren, Julie Lynn Dowdee, Jeffrey Philip Browning, Ashley Morgan Browning Dukeman (Joey), Lauren Morgan Kearns Dawood (Guss) and Kyle Thomas Browning (Jennifer); her great grandchildren, Taylor Dukeman, Bailey Stevenson, Kennedy Stevenson, Maxwell Browning, Payton Dukeman and Noelle Browning; and her sister Beatrice Morgan Elliott.
Virginia was an avid Northgate Mall walker and could "shop 'til she dropped" even well into her 90's. During the pandemic, Virginia and her sister Bea skyrocketed to "TikTok famous" status, going viral multiple times as the dynamic duo behind Southern Sisters Speak.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, Durham, NC.
