He was predeceased by: his father Harrell Ross Yates; and his siblings, Timothy Harrell "Timbo" Yates and Theresa Carol Yates. He is survived by: his children, Brandon Eugene Yates and Dixie Marie Yates; his mother Joyce Elizabeth Yates; his siblings, Michael Ray Yates (Rose), Robert William "Bobby" Yates, Pamela Ross Yates (Jake Clem) and Sherri Lee McClenny; and his former wife Sandra Kay Johnson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
