He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Houston Needham, Sr. and Edna Lee Stutts Needham; his son Hugh Ashley Needham (Jane Harris Needham Day); his wife Rita Jane Ward; and his siblings, Doris VanHoy, Leon and Donald.
He is survived by: his daughter Jane (Patrick) of Carrboro, NC; his granddaughters, Jennifer Needham of Thomasville and Jolie (Deepanjan) of Carrboro; and his siblings, Bobby Needham (Vera) of Robbins, Linda Needham Brooks (John) of Winston-Salem and Brenda Needham Whitley of Biscoe. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
