With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mable Ann Steele Luther of Eagle Springs, North Carolina, who passed away on August 21, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Mable Ann may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Mable Ann touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Lloyd Steele and Ida Greene Steele Barbour; her husband Wallace Luther; her daughter Wanda Pierce; and her siblings, James Malloy Steele and Maxine Caldwell.
She is survived by: her children, Raymond N. Freeman, Jr. (Vickie) of Eagle Springs and Sharon Ann Nichols of Eagle Springs. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Briggs-Candor Funeral Home (187 Farmers Market Rd, Biscoe, NC 27209). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Briggs-Candor Funeral Home Chapel (187 Farmers Market Rd, Biscoe, NC 27209).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
