He was predeceased by: his parents, W. H. Brown and Lettie Williams Brown; his wife Sybil Hooker Brown; his son Dwayne Brown; his grandson Ryan Brown; and his siblings, Clyde, Roy, Vester, Russell, Bob, Wilbert, Esterleen Boone, Inetia Brewer and Octavia Baxter.

He is survived by: his daughter Donna Bryson (Shad); his daughter-in-law Jeanie Brown; his grandchildren, Stephen Brown (Donna), Mary Catherine Rudi (Logan) and Jacob Bryson; his great grandchildren, Skylar O'Quinn and Spencer Brown; and his brothers-in-law, Dwight Hooker (Maggie) and John Hooker (Kelly). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
