He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Pittman and Helen Nuckles Pruitt; and his siblings, David Daniel Pruitt, Wesley Clarence Pruitt and Mary Elizabeth Pruitt Woods.

He is survived by: his wife Talissa Pruitt; his children, Charles Robert Pruitt, Jr. of Portland, OR and Bridgett Pruitt of Stokesdale, NC; his sister Barbara Dale Pruitt Watkins (Raymond) of Reidsville; and his grandchildren, Skilarr Pruitt, Malachi Pruitt, Joseph Gibson, III and Noah Gibson. He is also survived by six nieces and four nephews.
