We are sad to announce that on July 4, 2021, at the age of 76, Cecil Edward Purdy of Eden, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Euel Purdy and Bertha Martin Purdy; his wife Joan Frances Williams Purdy; and his brother Wallace Purdy. He is survived by: his daughters, Jan Briggs (Jonathan) of Reidsville and Julie Pulliam of Chapel Hill; his grandchildren, Jada Loy, Caleb Williamson, Autumn Carter, Joshua Williamson and Gabriel Williamson; his great grandchildren, Jayden Loy, Raelyn Dalton, Josiah Price, Callie Carter and Lola Salisbury; and his siblings, Linda Whitten of Eden and Wayne Purdy of Eden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 313 Cedar St., Eden, NC 27288.
