He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert "Spencer" Powell and Catherine Webster Powell. He is survived by : his wife Itaska "Gail" Rutledge Powell; his son Andrew "Andy" Spencer Powell; his daughter-in-law Kimberly "Nicole" Powell; his grandson Spencer "Brooks" Powell of Wilmington; and his brothers, Robert "Bobby" Dale Powell of Reidsville and John "Rodney" Powell of Eden.
