She was predeceased by: her parents, Felix Alvin Carroll, Sr. and Addie Rozella Doss Carroll; her husband Rev. Marvin James Southard; and her brother John William Carroll, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Brenda Carol Southard Keenan (John) of Williamston and James Gregory Southard (Kimberly); and her brother Felix Alvin Carroll, Jr. (Carol) of Davidson. She is also survived by four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fair Funeral Home (432 Boone Rd, Eden, NC 27288). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Eden (533 Greenwood St, Eden, NC 27288).
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to First Baptist Church of Eden, NC, Deep River Friends Meeting of High Point, NC, or Ukraine Challenge International, Inc., all three of which were dear to Lura's heart.
