He was predeceased by: his parents, James Scales and Vester Mae Dalton; his siblings, Bethel Clyde Scales, Raymond Scales, Margie Scales Bethel and Nancy Scales Murphy; his wife Brenda Dalton; his children, Marcellus Shamaine Murphy (Tori) of Eden, NC, Timothy Dalton of Eden, NC, Shamell Davis-Barnette (Michael) of Reidsville, NC, Marvin Jarvis Dalton of Sandy Level, VA and Shane Reaco Dalton (DiNesha) of Sandy Level, VA; his sister Ava Stokes of Martinsville, VA; and his grandchildren, Ny'Terious Dalton, Jadea Rucker, Jakeel Dalton, Faith Davis, LaKwes Dalton, Mason Dalton, Caden Dalton, Marley Dalton, Serenity Dalton, Shamar Murphy, Shaundrei Murphy, Harmony Dalton, Christopher Dalton, Isaiah Barnette, Kendel Dalton, Dallas Dalton and Destyni Dalton.
He is survived by: his close friends, Robert Earl Williams and Preston Clark. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins.
