She was predeceased by: her parents, Beverly Morton Carter and Stella Flannagan Carter; her husband Jimmie Vincent O'Dell; her grandson Trevor Yates; her siblings, Sally Reynolds, J. B. Carter, Henry Carter and Drewry "Billy" Carter; and her son-in-law Charles Yates.
She is survived by: her daughter Rene O'Neill; her son-in-law Dan (Melissa O'Dell-Yates); her grandchildren, Katelyn Yates and Daniel O'Neill (Kristin Kahout); her sister Josephine Carter; and her sister-in-law Rebecca Carter. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Fair Funeral Home Chapel (432 Boone Rd, Eden, NC 27288). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
