He is survived by: his father Chester Franklin Rutan of Sissonville, WV; his wife Julie Burchell Rutan; his stepson Timothy Burchell of Wentworth, NC; his grandchildren, Dylan Rutan of Albuquerque, NM, Tori Cunningham of Rapid City, SD and Addison Rutan of Evans, WV; his siblings, James Rutan of Ravenswood, WV, Richard Rutan (Barbara) of Taylors, SC and Cindy Crockett (Mark) of Ravenswood, WV; his brother-in-law Theo Burchell of Eden, NC; and his close friend Hilda Seals of Eden, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fair Funeral Home (432 Boone Rd, Eden, NC 27288). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fair Funeral Home Chapel (432 Boone Rd, Eden, NC 27288).
