He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley Parrish Farthing and Rudy Clay Farthing, Sr.; and his brother Michael Wayne Farthing. He is survived by: his wife Grace Schaefer Farthing; his children, Abigail Schaefer, Logan Farthing, Kennedy Farthing, William Schaefer, Noah Farthing and Samuel Joseph Farthing, Jr.; and his siblings, Christina Campbell (Michael), Brandi Rowland (Phillip), Rudy Clay Farthing, Jr. (Melinda), Ronald Farthing (Barbie) and James M. Farthing (Laura).
