William Thomas Flynt Sr. Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Hatcher Flynt Thorpe and Romulus Hoke Flynt; his wife Gail Ogburn Flynt; and his son-in-law Kenan Casteen Wright. He is survived by: his children, Molly Flynt Wright of Eden, William Thomas Flynt, Jr. (Will) of Eden and Hoke Ogburn Flynt (Julie) of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Margaret, Elizabeth Wright, William, Warren Flynt, Charlie and Ben Flynt; and his brothers, Guy Flynt (Jane) and Robert Flynt (Sue). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Leaksville United Methodist Church (603 Henry St, Eden, NC 27288). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at the Lawson Cemetery.
He was instrumental in the creation of the Rockingham County Community Foundation, where he also served as a board member for over a decade. In honor of his contributions to his community, Tommy was recognized as the Eden Citizen of the Year in 2007.
