It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Rountree Smith of Edenton, North Carolina, born in Gates, North Carolina, who passed away on April 29, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Walter and Lucy Baines Rountree; her husband Adrien J. Smith, Jr.; her siblings, Nell Stallings, Blanche Copeland, Hinton, Ralph and Rountree; and her daughter-in-law Mary Smith.
She is survived by: her sons, Larry Smith of Edenton, Jeff Smith (Carey) of Edenton, Phil Smith (René) of Edenton and Fred Smith (Kim) of Edenton; her grandchildren, Tim, Michael (Holly), Daniel (Rhonda), Brandon (Patricia), Lindsay, Lauren, Erica, Brittany and Kaitlyn Smith; and her great grandchildren, Alex, Grayson, Lily, Emily, Mary Ann, Hannah, Katherine, Elizabeth Smith, Samantha Corduan and Dawson Smith.
