She is survived by: her mother Connie Jean Clements Copeland of Edenton; her parents-in-law, Kenneth Paul "Kent" Pierce and Carol Jean; her brother-in-law Michael Pierce; Ellison Jewel "Ellie" Pierce of Edenton and Jacob Alan Pierce of Raleigh.

The family asks that flowers be omitted and contributions in her memory be made to Open Door Church, P.O. Box 1095, Edenton, NC 27932, (where it will be used to further fund the Open Door Mercy Home in India), or to a charity of one's choice.
