She was predeceased by: her parents, Worth Hippensteel and Elsie Hassell Hare; and her siblings, Sandra Hare Vail, Worth H. Hare, Jr. and Gail Hare Singh.
She is survived by: her husband Joseph Wallace Goodwin III; her daughter Sarah Goodwin Trueblood (Austin) of Edenton; her sisters, Iris Hare Olmstead (Allen Frank) of New Bern and Salli Hare; and her stepmother Sallie Layton Hare.
