It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merritta Waits Johnson (Edenton, North Carolina), born in Denver, Colorado, who passed away on February 10, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Alfred Carl Francis Waits and Duella Mae Heartwell Waits; her siblings, Madora, Ardith, Theta, Roberta and Charlie; and her pets, Buster and Bella.
She is survived by : her children, Tammy Jean Bryan (Jim) of Wake Forest, Doris Vann Johnson of Raleigh and Bradly James Johnson (Eva) of South Mills; her grandchildren, Travis Johnson, Kallie Wulfkuhle (Nick), Jordan Bryan (Christine), Meghan Lucas (Zach) and Morgan Johnson (Brandon); her great grandchildren, Ellie, Kade, Isaac, Avery and Taegan; and her niece Cheryl Lipe. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any chapter of one's local humane society.
