He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Johnnie Edgar and Pearl Mae Bunch Hughes; his wife Elaine Biggs Hughes; his sons, Johnnie Hughes (Ashley) of Edenton and Earl Copeland (Nellie) of Cofield; his siblings, Donna Poulos (Nick), Tony Hughes (Miriam) of Merry Hill, Ricky Hughes (Johcel) of Merry Hill and Harlan Hughes (Debbie) of Merry Hill; and his grandchildren, Jonathan Jones, Alyssa Hughes and Braxton Hughes.
