He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Vogedes and Ernestine Jones Vogedes; his sibling Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity; his wife Ginger Byrum Vogedes; his daughters, Elizabeth "Betsy" Hicks (Paul) of Edenton and Leigh Hood (Daniel) of Raleigh; and his granddaughters, Libba Hicks, Caroline Hood and Lily Hood.
