We announce the death of Betsy Wright Hinton of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, who passed away on September 28, 2026, at the age of 77. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerry S. Wright, Sr. and Marjorie Vernon Wright of Elizabeth City; her brother Jerry; her sister-in-law Sue Wright of Kitty Hawk; and her mother-in-law Rebecca Davis Walker of Midland, Texas..
She is survived by: her husband Charles Lewis Hinton III of Raleigh; her children, Morgan Hinton Lyon (Robert) of Raleigh, Blair Hinton Fulford (Edward) of Wilson and Charles Lewis Hinton IV of Raleigh; her grandchildren, Davis Robert Lyon, Charles Grant Lyon, Katherine Blair Lyon, Edward Arpe Fulford Jr. and Julia Frances Horton Fulford; and her siblings, Mary Riddick (William), Kathy Donahue (Phil), Ginger Menk (Andrew) and David Wright (Holly). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the White Memorial Presbyterian Church (1704 Oberlin Rd, Raleigh, NC 27608).
