He is survived by: his children, Adam Herring (Lovietta) of Jacksonville and Nicole Downing of Elizabeth City; his grandchildren, Adner, Amori, Aulina, Avery, Hadiya, Ngozi, Adam, Chantel, Chassity, Christopher, Curtis Jr. and Jazmine; his great grandchildren, Brooklynn and Ar'mani; his siblings, Sylvester (Gwendolyn), Willie (Priscilla), Quintin, Michael, Diane (Robert), Sharon (Calvin) and Cassandra; and his close friend Millicent Spruill. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Viewing was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:55 PM at the Faith and Victory Christian Center (1046 Horseshoe Rd, Elizabeth City, NC 27909). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location.
