He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Thomas Cherry, Sr. and Barbara Lamb Cherry; his grandparents, John Franklin, Martha Estelle Pritchard Cherry, Sr., Jacob Judson and Grace Lorraine Munden Lamb; his wife Deborah Hurdle Cherry; his daughter Anna L. Cherry (Mark Brothers) of Elizabeth City; his siblings, William Thomas Cherry, Jr., Martha Michele Blanchard (William) of Elizabeth City and Denise Murlene Whitfield of Greenville; and his sister-in-law Mary Cherry of Elizabeth City. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (300 W Main St, Elizabeth City, NC 27909). A reception was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
