He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wesley Harrell, Sr. and Violet Nokomis Harrell; and his brother Pat Harrell. He is survived by: his wife Joan Cohoon Harrell; his children, Cristin Harrell Winslow (Justin) of Greenville and Joshua Britton Harrell (Randi) of Elizabeth City; his siblings, June Harrell Piland (John) of Clayton, Jill Harrell Kahl (Paul) of Hertford, Jesse Vance Harrell (Hilda) of Hertford and Jimmy Harrell (Darlene) of Hertford; and his sister-in-law Carroll Harrell of Hertford.
