He is survived by: his wife Jacquelyn Lee Sanders of Elizabeth City; his children, Michael Patrick Sanders, Jr. (Hailey) of Ayden, Ellis Wright Sanders (Jenny) of Kill Devil Hills and Olivia Anne Sanders of Nags Head; his grandchildren, Grayson Sanders and Penelope Sanders; and his brother Christopher Sanders (Dayna) of Ocean Isle Beach.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Christ Episcopal Church (200 S McMorrine St, Elizabeth City, NC 27909).
