He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean Overman and Mary Overman; his parents-in-law, Mike and Susan Herring; and his brother-in-law Jon Herring.

He is survived by: his wife Michaelle Herring Overman; his children, Nicholas "Steven" Overman, Jr. (Camille), Beth Stephenson (Blake) and Logan Overman (Savannah); his brother Andy (Cindy); his nephews, Brandon and Cameron Overman; his sister-in-law Shelly Herring; his mother-in-law JoAnn Herring; and his close friends, David and Sharon Bailey.
