It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley Upton of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, who passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Albert Kelley and Elizabeth Marie Kratz Kelley; her husband Robert Osborn Upton, Jr.; her grandson Gene Allen Upton II; and her brothers, Albert Kelley, William Kelley, Walter Kelley and Lewis Kelley.
She is survived by: her children, Sherry Upton Gallop (Harrell) of Elizabeth City, NC, Shirl Upton Minton (Stephen) of Roxobel, NC, Gene Allen Upton of Richwood, WV and R. Kelley Upton (Beth) of Camden, NC; and her sisters, Diane Rabb and Carol Holt. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
