She is survived by: her sons, Joseph Lynn Overton and Mark Overton; her siblings, Arlene Knowles and Martin Williams; and her grandchildren, LeAnn Whisner, Terry Lee Overton, Carrie Hayes, Gracie, Dillon and Daisy Overton. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Virginia's memory to Hunts House 4 Kids, 1178 Tulls Creek Road, Moyock, NC 27958, as a tribute to her lifelong commitment to nurturing and caring for the next generation.
