He was predeceased by: his parents, McLoy Key and Ethel Jane Freshwater Key; his sons, Gurvis Massey, Lyman Eric Key and William Tony Key; and his sister Johnetta Burrus.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian; his children, Steve Kee (Linda) of Portsmouth, VA, Bryant Key (Effie) of Chesterfield, VA, Robyn, Roslyn Miller of Somerset, NJ, Eulanda Crump of Virginia Beach, VA and Peggy Patterson of Middletown, NY; his daughter-in-law Sharon Key-Sutton (Calvin) of Norfolk, VA; and his sister Elizabeth Key White of Allentown, PA.. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
